I apologize for leaving the blog readers hanging. We have the Wawasee Blues Video and perhaps the Ribbon Dance and the Grandparents’ Skit videos to put up, plus I’ll load the slideshow of photos that Mark C put together. I’m sorry Mommy Duties have taken over since Saturday and I could not get the video edited for upload (need to break them up since they are longer than the allowed file size on youtube).
We had a delicious Festival Dinner followed by the, as usual, very wonderful festival. All of the skits were great. Keenan does an dead-on impression of Uncle Lawrence. (Teens, would you consider loading your skit to youtube so we could have it on the blog? Or at least part of it?) The littler kids sang and some of the girls did a ribbon dance. There was a magic show and piano performance. Start thinking of your act for next year now.
This year we had some “returning from a while back” campers – Tim and Hugh come to mind. I hope we can get these guys to let you know what it was like to come back, see old friends and see what’s exciting about camp now as we close out the first decade of 2000. The kids still need aunts and uncles and grandparents, even if the world is vastly (thankfully) different than it was 50 years ago. And the parents of these kids need other parents for support, just as those first parents bringing their kids to camp did. And we all need the grandparents. Our grandparents are truly amazing people.
